Day 1: Publishing a Kindle book

So today I found a couple ebook cover designers and emailed them to ask what they charge to create a Kindle book cover.  I know someone who got a Kindle cover created on Fiverr.com.  They were thrilled with it, but I kind of thought it looked only about as good as you could expect for $5.  A case of getting what you paid for.  I’m aiming a little higher than that.

I also went and looked at Amazon’s advice for promoting your Kindle title, but it was not very noteworthy — advice about getting a good cover design, a compelling description and creating an author page.

This is only a tiny sliver of progress towards my goal, but it is progress.  Hopefully I’ll get more done tomorrow.

There is some relatively inexpensive software out there that allows you to make eBook covers - and you can make as many as you want for the same price.
